Statement of Retraction

In the June 09 newsletter, under the heading: No longer UKATA Compliant, we wrote: “The following companies are no longer members of UKATA and therefore may not display the UKATA Logo or imply they are compliant.”

We received a complaint from those companies in respect of this wording, instructing UKATA to: “publicly retract the misleading statements that the companies are “not compliant” to deliver asbestos related training to industry”.

UKATA neither intended such meaning nor believes that this meaning was implied by the words in the newsletter.

However, in order to make the matter clear and remove any doubt, UKATA states: The following companies have chosen not to continue as members of UKATA. Membership is voluntary and there is no requirement to be a member of UKATA in order to deliver asbestos training in the UK. UKATA wish to apologise unreservedly for any loss of business or reputation caused to these companies by the misleading and unfounded allegations made in the last version of the June 09 rev5 newsletter
