Asbestos Trainer - Midlands & South of England - Bradley Environmental Consultants Ltd

The following vacancy is being offered by UKATA member Bradley Environmental Consultants Ltd.

Bradley Environmental Consultants Ltd are excited to announce that, due to strong growth over the Covid-19 pandemic, they are looking to recruit a full time Quality Assurance Officer within their Asbestos Team. The role would suit a pro-active and self-motivated surveyor / analyst who has excellent technical, organisational, and people skills, and is looking to take the next step in their professional development.

Their asbestos technical staff are based throughout the UK. However, the majority of site audits will be required in the north of England, with some coverage also required in the central belt of Scotland. The successful candidate will be home based and will plan their own diary under the supervision of the existing Quality Management Team. Bradley Environmental Consultants are mindful of the travel time that may be associated with this role and will ensure that a Work-Life Balance is achieved on a week by week basis, for all our site based staff.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role would be varied and cover all aspects of day-to-day quality management, including:

  • Scheduling and carrying-out method-witness audits and “5% reinspections” on surveyors and analysts, and reporting your findings to the auditees, Technical and Quality Management Teams
  • Assisting the Quality Management Team with systems and processes to give confidence that client services are carried out in compliance with our ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 accreditations.

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

  • A combination of BOHS Proficiency Qualifications (or equivalent) such as the P402, P403, P404, P405, W504 or CCP (Asbestos)/Certificate of Competence in Asbestos
  • Significant (at least 3 years) practical experience of undertaking asbestos-related site works, including analytical and/or survey works
  • Objectivity, independence, honesty and trustworthiness
  • Be effective at dealing with people, including strong oral communication skills, and being able to handle difficult conversations, whilst showing both patience and diplomacy
  • Excellent written communication skills, with a keen focus on attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • An excellent understanding of Health & Safety with respect to asbestos-related works
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including occasional staying away
  • Strong I.T. literacy (experience of working with TEAMS would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided)
  • A full UK driving licence

(Further technical training will be offered to an otherwise-exceptional candidate, to bring all technical skill sets up to the required strength).
