As an approved UKATA Industry Associate, we expect all companies to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:
Compliance with Laws and Regulations: All Industry Associates must comply with applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and standards. Companies must also adhere to competition laws and regulations, ensuring fair and ethical business practices.
Insurance Requirements: Industry Associates must maintain appropriate levels of insurance coverage for the work and services they offer. The company must provide evidence of insurance to UKATA upon request.
Annual Application: All approved Industry Associates are required to complete an annual application to ensure their information is up to date. The application will include any changes in the company's details, insurance coverage, or other relevant information.
Display of Company Details: Once a company meets the criteria set out by UKATA, their company details will be displayed on the UKATA website. It is the responsibility of the Industry Associate to ensure that their company information is accurate and up to date. Additional address listings can be included for a fee of £50 + VAT.
Primary Contact: Each approved Industry Associate must designate a primary contact person who will serve as the main point of communication between the company and UKATA. The primary contact will be responsible for handling all enquiries, requests, and updates related to the company's approval.
Data Protection and Privacy: Industry Associates must comply with applicable data protection laws and regulations. UKATA will handle any personal data shared by the Industry Associates in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Notification of HSE or Legal Actions: If an Industry Associate becomes subject to any actions, investigations, or enforcement actions by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or any other relevant authorities, they must promptly notify UKATA. UKATA may conduct its own review and take appropriate actions based on the nature of the issue.
Licensed Asbestos Removal Contractors (LARCs) Directory: If the applying company is a current Licensed Asbestos Removal Contractor (LARC), they will be automatically added to the LARC Directory on the UKATA website. However, if the company is removed from the register provided to us and managed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on a weekly basis, and no longer appears on that register, they will be removed from the LARC Directory.
Furthermore, LARCs are required to inform UKATA immediately if their licence is removed or if any conditions are applied to their licence, ensuring full transparency.
