UKATA, a leading authority for asbestos training, will be celebrating and supporting National Apprenticeship Week 2023.

Running from 6 – 12 February, the week-long celebration brings together apprentices and businesses across the country to show the positive impacts apprenticeships can have on individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.

The set theme for this year will be ‘Skills for Life’; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.

Over the years, UKATA have had many success stories employing and retaining apprentices, with existing staff having secured employment with the association following completion of their apprenticeship programme.

Joining UKATA in January 2019 as an apprentice, Nathan Shaw, Marketing Executive said:

“My career started with UKATA as a Marketing Apprentice in January 2019, completing a Level 3 Marketing & Social Media NVQ. Since completing my apprenticeship, I have remained in the Marketing Department and progressed from Apprentice, to Assistant, and now hold the position of Marketing Executive.

Over the past 4 years, not only has my confidence grown, but I have also gained invaluable experience and skills that will benefit my future. I hope one day I will be able to share my knowledge and experiences with an apprentice to kickstart their career and help them develop, grow and learn.”

Throughout the week, UKATA will be promoting apprenticeships, their benefits and success stories throughout the week.
