UKATA Director to speak at 4th Chromium ESG Technical Conference

UKATA is pleased to announce that Director and Deputy Chair, Adam Harding will be speaking at the 4th Chromium ESG Technical Conference, taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 6-7 October 2026.

The conference, organised by the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA), brings together technical experts and professionals from across the chromium value chain to share knowledge and discuss the development of a responsible and sustainable chromium industry. This year’s programme has a particular focus on decarbonisation, alongside environmental, social and governance developments affecting the sector.

Adam Harding will contribute to the conference’s programme of social and regulatory discussions, delivering a session titled ‘Developing Chromium VI Training Standards under EU & UK Regulations’.

The session will provide an overview of the regulatory landscape surrounding Chromium VI, highlighting key considerations for organisations managing occupational exposure and the importance of understanding the requirements that apply across different jurisdictions.

UKATA Director and Deputy Chair, Adam Harding said:

“For me, this is not simply about transferring knowledge from asbestos to Chromium VI. It is about taking the lessons, experience, and principles UKATA have developed over many years and considering how they can contribute to addressing emerging and evolving occupational risks.

I’m particularly looking forward to meeting other professionals, sharing experiences, and learning from the expertise within the room. The opportunity to challenge ideas, exchange knowledge and build new professional connections is one of the most valuable aspects of events like this”.

Adam Harding began his career as a science graduate before moving into environmental consultancy, surveying, and project management. He holds BOHS and NEBOSH qualifications in occupational health and safety, asbestos, and legionella management, alongside formal training credentials that enable him to deliver high-impact instruction across various sectors. Currently serving as Managing Director of ADM Training, Adam partners with public and private sector organisations with a focus on education and healthcare to deliver tailored compliance training, consultancy, and procurement support. A recognised industry voice, he frequently speaks at major sector events.

UKATA has developed its Chromium VI Awareness training syllabus to provide guidance for employees whose work could foreseeably expose them to Chromium VI compounds.
