UKATA is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar focusing on how Plans of Work can be strengthened, featuring HM Principal Specialist Inspector (Occupational Hygiene) Sam Lord, Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Taking place on Wednesday 21 October at 10:30am, the webinar, Improving Plans of Work, will be hosted by UKATA Quality Assurance Manager, Liam Pembleton.
Sam receives at least one Plan of Work each week for specialist review by HSE inspectors across Great Britain. Drawing on her experience as a specialist occupational hygiene regulatory inspector, she will explore some of the key areas where Plans of Work can be improved and what makes these documents effective.
The session will focus particularly on human factors, effective visual communication through diagrams and robust ventilation calculations, providing valuable insight into how Plans of Work can better communicate the proposed work and demonstrate effective control measures.
Sam Lord is HM Principal Specialist Inspector (Occupational Hygiene) and Regulatory Technical Lead for Asbestos, Waste & Recycling (Hazardous Substances) and Metalworking Fluids at the HSE. She provides technical occupational hygiene expertise to frontline inspectors and supports regulatory enforcement across a wide range of industries.
With a specialist focus on asbestos and workplace health risks, Sam also chairs the Asbestos Network Technical Working Group, bringing together the HSE and key industry stakeholders to share intelligence, review guidance and support improvements in asbestos management and control practices.
This webinar provides an opportunity for attendees to hear directly from one of the HSE's leading occupational hygiene specialists and gain insight that can be applied to their own Plans of Work.
UKATA is fervent about promoting safe and responsible working practices, committed to working with members and partners to realise a shared vision of protecting workers and the public from the hazards linked with asbestos exposure.
