UKATA was delighted to once again support and sponsor the NORAC Annual Conference and Awards, held on 1 October 2026 at the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel.
The event featured expert presentations and opportunities for knowledge sharing and networking, covering a range of topics relevant to professionals working across the asbestos consultancy sector. The programme featured contributions from a range of experienced professionals, including Alex Painter (NORAC Chair), Sam Lord (HSE) and Martin Saunders (AHT Insights).
The event provided plenty of opportunity for delegates to exchange experiences and discuss the challenges facing the industry, while also highlighting the importance of continued learning and collaboration across the sector.
UKATA was represented by Chief Operating Officer, Craig Evans and Senior Operations Manager, Debbie Nixon who met with members and industry colleagues throughout the day.
Speaking of the event Craig Evans said:
“It was a pleasure to represent UKATA at the NORAC Conference once again. The event brought together a great mix of experience from across the industry and provided some valuable opportunities to discuss current issues and catch up with colleagues. It was also great to see the achievements of those working across our sector recognised at the awards.”

The conference was followed by the NORAC Asbestos Awards, celebrating the achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations across the asbestos industry. It was a real pleasure to find that NORAC Founder, Colette Willoughby received an honorary award at the conference dinner. A well-deserved recognition of her contribution, leadership and lasting impact on the asbestos industry.
UKATA was pleased to support the event alongside fellow sponsors, including Mesothelioma UK, Start Software, Tiro, and Proshield Compliance. Mesothelioma UK’s involvement also highlighted the importance of collaboration between organisations working to raise awareness of asbestos and its ongoing impact.
UKATA would like to thank NORAC, the speakers, sponsors and everyone who attended for contributing to a successful event and looks forward to continuing to support initiatives that bring the asbestos community together.
UKATA is fervent about promoting safe and responsible working practices, committed to working with members and partners to realise a shared vision of protecting workers and the public from the hazards linked with asbestos exposure.
