UKATA Supports Mesothelioma UK Charity Race Day

UKATA is pleased to report a thoroughly enjoyable and successful day at Mesothelioma UK’s Charity Race Day Event, held at Leicester Racecourse on Monday 8 June 2026.

Four members of UKATA's team attended the event, joining supporters, families, professionals and friends of the charity for a memorable day that combined live horse racing with fundraising in support of those affected by mesothelioma.

Set against the backdrop of a full race meeting, the event provided a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere where guests came together to enjoy a two-course buffet and participate in a charity raffle, all while contributing to the ongoing work of Mesothelioma UK.

UKATA staff embraced the spirit of the day, enjoying a mix of wins and losses on the races, with good humour and camaraderie throughout. Fortunately, the weather also played its part, with the sun making a welcome appearance and adding to the positive atmosphere of the event.

A particular highlight was getting behind-the-scenes access courtesy of DSK Environmental Ltd, including the parade ring and winner's enclosure, where their Director, Kirsty Budenbender presented the trophy to the winning connections.

The Race Day provided an important opportunity for attendees to connect with others in the asbestos and wider health community, reflect on the impact of mesothelioma, and show support for those affected by the disease. The event successfully combined fundraising with awareness, helping to strengthen the sense of solidarity across all those in attendance.

Speaking after the event, Marketing and Communications Associate, Helen Warriner said:

"It was a fantastic day to be part of. The atmosphere was incredibly positive, and it was great to see so many people coming together in support of such an important cause. We may have had a few wins and losses on the track, but the real win was being able to contribute and support the vital work being done by Mesothelioma UK. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day from start to finish."

UKATA would like to thank Mesothelioma UK and the event organisers for hosting such a well-run and meaningful occasion. UKATA is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of Mesothelioma UK and looks forward to continuing its support for the charity and its vital work in supporting those affected by mesothelioma.
