Drawing on the research behind his book, Tom will explore the legacy of the asbestos disaster and how asbestos continues to affect our built environment, with many asbestos-containing materials now beyond their intended lifespan. One year on from the book's publication, the webinar will reflect on current asbestos management practices and consider whether the UK is any closer to a coordinated asbestos removal strategy.

Tom White received his PhD in English & Humanities from Birkbeck, University of London, and has written for the London Review of Books, The Guardian, Tribune, History Workshop and other publications.

This webinar is ideal for asbestos professionals, health and safety practitioners, dutyholders and anyone with an interest in the history and future of asbestos management.
