UKATA Launches TrainPro® – A Smarter Way to Manage Virtual Asbestos Training and Examinations

The UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) has launched TrainPro®, its new learner and examination management system, designed to reduce administration for training providers, streamline online assessments and enhance the experience of delivering UKATA-approved virtual asbestos training.

Developed by UKATA specifically for its approved training providers, TrainPro® brings together learner registration, examination management, real-time monitoring and certification into one streamlined digital platform.

The system has been designed with a clear objective: to make managing virtual training simpler, more efficient and less time-consuming, allowing training providers and tutors to spend less time on administration and more time delivering high-quality asbestos training.

Less Administration, More Time for Training

Managing training courses involves numerous administrative tasks, from registering learners and preparing examinations to monitoring results, managing learner information and issuing certificates.

TrainPro® simplifies these processes by bringing key activities together within a single system, reducing the need for repetitive administration and manual handling of learner records.

Training providers can manage their virtual training sessions, register delegates, oversee examinations and arrange certification through a more connected process.

Designed to complement existing virtual training platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, TrainPro® allows tutors to continue delivering their courses as normal, while the system takes care of the examination and associated administration.

Built-In Learner Photographs and Simplified Certification

One of TrainPro®'s practical features is its integrated learner photograph functionality.

The system enables learner photographs to be captured and managed digitally as part of the registration and examination process, removing the need for training providers to manage photographs separately when preparing certificates.

Where photographs are required on UKATA training certificates, the images can be incorporated into the certification process, reducing additional administration and helping providers maintain accurate learner records.

Following successful completion of an examination, certificates can be generated through the system using UKATA's CertGen® certification platform.

Training providers can also choose to issue certificates automatically, removing the need to process each successful learner individually.

Together, these features provide a more efficient journey from learner registration through to examination and certification, with fewer manual steps for training providers.

Real-Time Examination Monitoring and Instant Results

TrainPro® also introduces improved visibility and control for tutors managing online examinations.

Through real-time examination monitoring, tutors can follow learner progress as assessments take place, helping them oversee the examinati

on process without needing to manage results manually.

Once an examination has been completed, results are available immediately, allowing tutors to identify successful learners and those who may require additional support.

The system also enables tutors to review examination answers across an entire class, highlighting questions that learners commonly answer incorrectly.

This provides valuable insight into areas of the course that may require further explanation, helping tutors identify knowledge gaps and continually improve the learning experience.

Rather than simply recording examination outcomes, TrainPro® provides useful information that can support better training delivery.

A More Seamless Experience for Learners

The benefits of TrainPro® extend beyond training providers.

Learners undertaking UKATA-approved virtual training receive individual login details, enabling them to access their examinations through a straightforward online platform.

The digital examination process removes the need for paper-based assessments, while immediate results and streamlined certification help reduce delays following course completion.

The system supports a consistent examination experience, with learners able to focus on demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of the training they have received.

Developed by UKATA, for UKATA Training Providers

Unlike generic examination software, TrainPro® has been developed specifically around the requirements of UKATA-approved training and the practical needs of its members.

By integrating learner management, examination monitoring, delegate photographs and certification, the platform offers a more efficient approach to administering virtual asbestos training while supporting UKATA's established training standards.

The introduction of TrainPro® also forms part of UKATA's wider commitment to investing in digital systems that improve services for members and support the continued development of high-quality asbestos training.

UKATA Operations Manager Sasha Brailsford said:

"TrainPro® has been developed with our members in mind. We recognise the amount of administration involved in managing training courses, examinations and certification, and we wanted to create a system that genuinely makes those processes easier.

"Features such as integrated learner photographs, real-time examination monitoring, immediate results and automated certification might seem like small improvements individually, but together they can make a significant difference to the time members spend administering their courses.

"Importantly, TrainPro® is not simply about making examinations digital. It is about providing our members with a purpose-built system that supports their tutors, improves the learner experience and maintains the high standards associated with UKATA-approved training."

Supporting the Future of UKATA-Approved Training

TrainPro® launched on 21 October 2026 and will replace the existing interim online examination system for virtual training from 1 January 2027.

The system initially supports tutor-led virtual training, with future development planned to extend its examination management functionality to classroom-based training.

As the platform develops, UKATA will continue to explore opportunities to simplify administration, improve training management and provide additional benefits to its members.
