UKATA Leader Shortlisted for Generation Next Award

Craig Evans, UKATA Chief Operating Officer (COO) has been announced as a finalist in the Generation Next Future Leader Award 2022.

This award recognises an influential young professional who has significantly contributed to their industry during their career and demonstrating how they have made a significant difference to the businesses growth.

Craig’s career has seen him progress from a 17-year-old apprentice, to holding the most senior position in a national trade association. Advocating UKATA’s remit to improve standards in asbestos training, his drive and focus have been paramount in improving understanding of the dangers of asbestos across industry trades and reducing the risks surrounding the material by promoting the legality of appropriate training.

By leading the dedicated UKATA team by example and working strategically with the UKATA board, this has helped the organisation achieve its membership growth aspirations and elevated UKATA’s reputation further within industry.

A highly respected leader in his field, his extensive knowledge alongside his strategic planning skills are key in the future development of UKATA.

Speaking on the announcement, Craig said:

“I’m absolutely honoured to have been shortlisted for the East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) 'Generation Next Future Leader Award'.

I am very fortunate to have a committed, eager, and passionate team behind me to help me strengthen UKATA’s vision and values.

I look forward to meeting the other finalists at the awards ceremony on 14 July in Derby.”

Established in 2008, UKATA is a highly respected, leading authority on asbestos training. Its passion is to both maintain and improve asbestos training, ensuring the highest standards are upheld by means of continual quality assessment.

UKATA continuously works within current legislation as a minimum, whilst collaborating with industry partners to ensure that the UK has the highest standards of asbestos safety.

UKATA freely shares knowledge and information both online and across social media, demonstrating that education remains their top priority.
