UK Government supports nearly 800,000 jobs across Scotland

New figures show the extent of UK Government coronavirus support for Scottish jobs and self-employed people.

£63 million for local authorities to assist those struggling to afford food and other essentials

New funding confirmed for local authorities to help those struggling financially as a result of coronavirus.

Additional money will sit alongside the £6.5 billion of extra support being provided through the welfare system to support the most vulnerable in society.

Parents returning to work after extended leave eligible for furlough

People on paternity and maternity leave who return to work in the coming months will be eligible for the government’s furlough scheme, HM Treasury announced today (9 June).
