Leading training association UKATA is pleased to announce the resounding success of its participation in the Southern sector of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Live event, held on June 18-19, 2025, at London Olympia.

As a key fixture in the health and safety and workplace wellbeing sectors, SHW Live proved to be a highly effective event, bringing together professionals to drive progress and raise industry standards.

This year’s SHW Live series featured two live events, one held in Manchester and the other in London, both spanning two days. Tailored specifically to their regional audiences, the events offered a unique blend of essential education, networking, and procurement opportunities for professionals across the UK. UKATA played a pivotal role in both events, where delegates had the opportunity to engage with its team, who were on hand to provide valuable insights into the latest developments in asbestos related training and UKATA membership opportunities. UKATA’s stand was a hub for discussions on critical industry topics, including the latest trends in safety standards, risk management, and regulatory updates.

Speaking of UKATA’s involvement in the event, Quality Assurance Manager Liam Pembleton said “Attending SHW Live in London was a fantastic opportunity to connect with so many industry professionals, all dedicated to improving health, safety, and innovation in the sector. Events like these are essential for UKATA, as they allow us to engage with key stakeholders, explore the latest industry innovations, and reinforce our commitment to raising asbestos awareness and training standards. Being part of these conversations ensures we stay at the forefront of industry advancements and continue driving positive change”

The exhibition hall at the London event united leading experts, suppliers, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) professionals, offering attendees invaluable networking opportunities and access to over 100 key suppliers. UKATA industry associates, Casella participated, sharing their expertise and further enriching the event with a wealth of high-quality industry professionals.

In addition to the exhibition hall, four dedicated theatres were featured: the Keynote Theatre, HSM Knowledge Hub, Wellbeing Hub, and Fire Safety Live. These theatres hosted CPD-accredited sessions covering a broad spectrum of topics, offering attendees the latest insights and practical knowledge to enhance safety standards and promote innovation across the health, safety, and wellbeing sectors. Among the highlights was a compelling session in the Keynote Theatre by UKATA Director, Chris Ivey and Simon Hatson, QHSE and Sustainability Director at Aquaterra Energy, who explored the critical implications of exposure to dust, emphasising both health risks and mitigation strategies.

SHW Live received strong support from leading industry bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), British Safety Council, IOSH and NEBOSH. UKATA was thrilled to partner with this prestigious event and looks forward to the 2026 edition.

UKATA received a lot of interest from delegates at the event regarding the upcoming UKATA Asbestos Conference #UKATACON25 on June 26 2025. Many professionals in the industry were keen to register their place at what is set to be a great day at the Belfry Hotel in Nottingham. Expert speakers from across the field will be presenting engaging topics as well as an exhibition space featuring a wide range of industry-leading exhibitors showcasing the latest products, services, and innovations in asbestos management, training, and safety.
