UKATA is pleased to announce that newly appointed UKATA Director Ellie Johns will be speaking at The Health & Safety Event 2026, taking place from 28-30 April at the NEC Birmingham.

Ellie will deliver a session titled “The Importance of a UKATA Asbestos Trained Project Manager,” focusing on the critical role project managers play in ensuring asbestos work is carried out safely and compliantly. The session will provide valuable insight for those responsible for overseeing asbestos removal projects, as well as organisations seeking to strengthen their approach to risk management.

Drawing on her extensive experience in asbestos training and consultancy, Ellie will explore key topics including the responsibilities of asbestos project managers, the requirements for different types of asbestos surveys, and what is expected when managing licensed work. The session will also examine the potential consequences of poor project oversight, highlighting real-world risks, regulatory breaches and examples of where projects have gone wrong.
