UKATA Certificate Generator

10th December 2012

Members Memorandum – UKATA Certificate Generator

Introduction

– The Certificate Generator became a compulsory requirement for all Category “A” Certification (Asbestos Awareness Training) provided by the Association’s members (irrespective of membership category) back in September 2011.

– It was the stated intent of the Association to extend the mandatory use of the Certificate Generator to all categories of certification in the future.

– Further the Association was committed to agreeing terms with the software developer to purchase the Certificate Generator outright.

Update on Initiatives

– The Certificate Generator will become mandatory for all Categories (A-C) of certification being issued by the Association’s members from the 1st January 2013.

– Any category B or C members who do not currently carry out and certify asbestos awareness training and who do not have a current members log in for the generator should contact the UKATA office during December 2012 for the issue of new log in details.

– Additionally, all category B or C members should send CVs of their B and C trainers to the office as soon as possible, as the trainer’s names will need to be added to the certificate generator in readiness for use by the member.

Current and Ongoing Performance Considerations

– The pricing model remains the same, a very small (maximum £1) cost per certificate to ensure that it remains well below market comparisons and also such that those members that deriving the most benefit and who are delivering significant quantities of UKATA training will contribute the most. Smaller members may never even need to purchase Credits due to the annual certificate credit model based on percentage of membership fees paid at the relevant level.

– The use of the Certificate Generator continues to provide the following benefits:
– Traceability
– Transparency
– Integrity
– Identity

– Construction industry confidence in UKATA has been enhanced as various stakeholders are now able to call the UKATA office and confirm the validity of training certificates and the delivery of such training by UKATA members.

New Service for Members

– In response to requests from our smaller members, UKATA is pleased to announce the availability of a UKATA certificate printing service. Those members who would like to take advantage of this service should contact the office for terms and conditions. In essence, the service will be provided to members on the basis of a nominal (circa. £2.00) charge per certificate to cover the costs to the Association in printing certificates on appropriate quality white 160gsm card, including distribution of certificates to members.
