UKATA is proud to announce that UKATA Director, Chris Ivey, will be speaking at SHW Live London 2025. Chris will be delivering a key presentation within the session titled “The Implications of Dust Exposure”, where he will share his knowledge on the dangers of asbestos and how to mitigate risk in the workplace, highlighting the legal responsibilities organisations must be aware of.
With more than 26 years of experience in the construction and demolition industries, Chris has spent his career advancing health and safety standards across the sector. At The Health & Safety People (THSP), he leads a team of consultants committed to delivering practical, high-quality safety services. A Chartered Member of IOSH and Guardian for Building Mental Health, Chris is particularly passionate about raising awareness around occupational health risks, including asbestos exposure and mental wellbeing.
SHW Live London 2025 will take place on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th June at Olympia London, bringing together health and safety professionals from across the UK for two days of expert-led seminars, exhibitions and networking opportunities. The event is a key date in the calendar for those looking to stay at the forefront of workplace safety and wellbeing.
The session organised by IOSH, featuring Chris Ivey will take place on Thursday 19th June at 11:00 AM and will run for 30 minutes. During this session, Chris will present on behalf of UKATA, offering expert commentary on the impact of asbestos exposure. He will outline practical steps to reduce risk and provide an overview of the legal landscape surrounding asbestos in the workplace.

He will be joined by Simon Hatson, QHSE and Sustainability Director at Aquaterra Energy, who will share real-life stories of individuals affected by dust exposure. Together, their session will combine expert knowledge and lived experience, giving attendees practical guidance and a deeper understanding of both the human and legal implications of occupational dust exposure.
