UKATA Champions Apprenticeships at Local School

UKATA attended Netherthorpe School to discuss apprenticeships with students and inspire future professionals, as part of their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

On Tuesday 8th October 2025, UKATA’s Events & Marketing Manager, Victoria Castelluccio, delivered an engaging career talk to Year 10 students in Staveley, Chesterfield. The session formed part of Netherthorpe’s wider commitment to providing students with insight into the range of pathways available after secondary education, organised by Deputy Head of Personal Development, Mr Green.

Victoria, who began her professional journey through an apprenticeship, spoke about her own experience and how it shaped her career. As a long-standing ambassador for apprenticeships, she explained what a typical day as an apprentice can involve, discussed the earning potential as an apprentice and highlighted how apprenticeships can lead to long-term career development. Her aim was to provide students with a realistic view of working life and help them understand the practical benefits of choosing a vocational pathway.

UKATA’s involvement in educational programmes reflects its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, to support the local community and engage in volunteering activities.

Speaking after the event, Victoria said, “This is the third time I have worked with students of Netherthorpe School, it was great to return and speak with the Year 10 group. Even if apprenticeships aren’t something students have considered before, it’s important they know the full range of options available to them. I hope the talk helped broaden their understanding of what’s possible after school.”
